Yes, one can see kangaroos during sunrise! 😃

The Cape Hillsborough National Park, about 130km south of Airlie Beach, is set on an old, inactive volcano and home to kangaroos, wallabies, and turtles.

Airlie Beach is a small, touristic town near the Whitsunday Islands.

Billabong Sanctuary is a 10 hectare wildlife sanctuary south of Townsville.

While Mission Beach provides a nice beach for water sport activities, Townsville’s “The Beach” is not that interesting.

Daintree is a small settlement about 130km north of Cairns and known for its rainforest and crocodile habitat.

The Green Island is about 45 minutes boat ride east of Cairns and right at the border to the Great Barrier Reef.

The tropical rainforest near the Wet Tropics World Heritage listed Barron Gorge National Park provides a nice area to explore.

My next stop is Cairns in the far north west of Queensland.
